People Get Ready

People Get Ready

That song was released in 1965 by the Impressions. Followed by a number of singers and groups including Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart and Al Green to name three.
The lyrics are

People get ready, there's a train comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesel hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord
People get ready, there's a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board them
There's hope for all among those loved the most
There ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind
Just to save his own
Blieve me now
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
For there is no hiding place against the kingdoms throne
So people get ready there's a train comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesel hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord.
People get ready. Those words have been echoed throughout history, expecting the end of the world. What does it mean the end of the world? Does it mean a meteor shows up and splatters the earth or does it mean that the earth will lose all of its ozone layer and the sun will melt everything? There is another theory, the earth blows up from inside the core. These are all good theory’s but have you ever thought that the end of the world maybe an end of your world. There has been several worlds ending. There was a place called Rome and it got too big for its britches and Rome's world ended. Russia lost its last Czar in 1918 ending the world for all Russians. In 1940 the world for all Jews in Europe ended. Does that mean that the world will end or the world as we know it?

That brings us back to the song. People get ready. You need to get ready and stay ready. We may get complacent that the world never ends and all that the bible says is a lie but whose world are we talking about. In the days of the non-politically correct preachers they use to say, “If Jesus came tonight while you were sleeping, would you be ready?”

What does that mean “ready.” Does it mean that you are a “good” person, you don’t do anything “bad”. You live each day and keep your head down. You may not go to church but you smile at people and help people when you can. It does not really matter what the bible says, you just go along with society. What they say is fine just don’t make any waves and you will go to heaven.
This is not true. Say you don’t believe in Heaven and Hell and it is true. Where does that leave you? Up a creek without a paddle or more to the point, lake of fire with no fire extinguisher.

The Romans thought that they did not need to follow God’s laws they created their own Gods and they fell. Hitler used God’s name at first and these “dirty Jews” needed to die. Who knows what Jew started all the hatred he had but he turned it on all Jews. How did he get all of those thousands of people to follow him? How do you convince regular normal people to kill and torture other human beings?

Hitler is reportedly to have killed over 6 million, Stalin was no better, he killed 6 million also but no one talks about what he did. Genghis Khan killed 40 million people during his reign. Mao Zedong is reportedly to have killed 49 million people. The world for each of the countries that these people ruled and many like them ended.

So, what does it mean, People get ready? It means that we need to follow the bible, God’s commandments and Jesus’ teachings. Get on board before it is too late. Don’t let the train leave the station without you. Take the train to heaven instead of falling into the pit of Hell. The immorality in this country has gotten out of hand. We must turn all of it off. How do you put that demon back in the bottle? There is no Genie, make no mistake about that, it is a demon.

Are you willing to do the work that it is going to take to put the demon back in the bottle or Hell where he belongs? Let’s get started.
